Contemporaneous Concertos opens Festival Week with a display of phenomenal examples of solo concerto and concerto grosso genres. Ysmael Reyes, flute, performs the Colorado premiere of a recently rediscovered concerto by Telemann.

Carrettin leads the ensemble in works by Händel and Corelli in addition to J.S. Bach’s famous Concerto for Two Violins. BBF’s Artistic Director, Mina Gajić presents the virtuosic and complex Harpsichord Concerto in D Minor, performing on the BBF’s double manual Flemish harpsichord.

Violinist Yu-Eun Kim (Los Angeles), violist Paul Miller (Pittsburgh), cellist Coleman Itzkoff (Los Angeles), bassist Nicholas Recuber (Colorado Symphony Orchestra), and London-based continuo organist Christopher Holman collaborate with BBF core artists in this spectacular opening concert of Festival Week.

An afternoon lecture covering the repertoire will take place in the chapel.
